Homeschool Programs in Davenport, FL: Why Families Love Our STEM Lab — RunTheCode STEM lab, Davenport FL

Most homeschool parents we meet in Davenport, Champions Gate and the Four Corners area are not short of ideas. They are short of time, equipment and help with the one part of the week that is hardest to teach well at the kitchen table: science and technology. The Homeschool STEM Lab was built for exactly that. Here is what homeschool families use it for, and why so many stay all school year.

A STEM block you do not have to prepare

Teaching coding, robotics or 3D printing at home means buying kits, learning the software first, and planning lessons between everything else on the list. In our lab, a certified STEM teacher and lab mentors run the block. Students arrive, pick up their own project track where they left off, and leave with something they built and documented progress you can keep for your homeschool records.

  • No kit shopping, lesson prep or software setup on your side
  • Project-based work, not worksheets or app time
  • Progress and project photos shared with parents
  • Runs August 1 through May 30, alongside your homeschool year

Six labs in one visit

Every plan includes access to all six labs, and students rotate through them rather than repeating one activity. A week might include programming a robot, wiring a circuit, designing a part in Tinkercad and printing it, or building a level in Roblox Studio.

  • Coding Lab: Scratch, Python, HTML/CSS and JavaScript
  • Robotics Lab: building, programming and testing robots
  • Engineering Lab: structures, circuits and mechanisms
  • Science Lab: hands-on experiments with real materials
  • 3D Design & Printing Lab: model, print, iterate
  • Game Design Lab: from playing games to building them

Small groups, matched by skill

Groups are 3–4 students, placed by skill level, experience and learning pace rather than by birthday. That matters most in homeschool co-ops, where one family often has a strong seven-year-old and a beginner thirteen-year-old. Both get work at their own level in the same visit, and the older one learns to explain things while the younger one has someone to ask.

Flexible weekday scheduling and prices

Visits run Monday to Friday inside the 2:00–6:00 PM window, up to 3 hours each, and you choose your days and drop-off and pick-up times in the online enrollment form. Morning slots between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM are not open yet, but we open them as soon as enough families ask — tick the morning-interest box when you enroll and we will confirm your times by email.

  • Explorer: $249/month, 1 visit per week
  • Innovator: $349/month, 2 visits per week — our most popular pace
  • Future Engineer: $499/month, 4 visits per week
  • Every visit runs up to 3 hours and includes all six labs
  • One-time $50 enrollment fee per family per program year

Step Up for Students accepted

RunTheCode is an approved Step Up for Students provider, and many of our homeschool families fund their visits that way. Depending on your scholarship type you can pay us directly through the Step Up platform, or pay out of pocket and submit your receipt for reimbursement based on your eligibility. Every payment gets a confirmation email and receipt, so your records stay clean.

The animals are part of the curriculum

Our STEAM pets — Emmy the ball python, Sunshine, Biscuit and Charizard the bearded dragons, Snow the leopard gecko and Latte the guinea pig — live at the lab. Students learn what each animal needs: habitat, heat, diet, handling. Caring for a living thing teaches observation, patience and responsibility in a way a textbook cannot, and it is a large part of why kids ask when their next visit is.

Safe, supervised and close to Four Corners

We are at 9023 Hooton Way in Champions Gate, Davenport, less than a mile from Four Corners Upper School. Sessions take place inside the lab under staff supervision, with a campus monitor, security cameras and plaza security officers. For safety and focus, only staff enter during sessions — so you always know exactly who your child is with.

Come see it before you commit

Walk the lab from your sofa with our virtual tour, or book a Saturday visit and meet the mentors and the pets in person. When you are ready, enroll online, choose your days and times, and you will get a confirmation email with your schedule. If you are not sure whether one visit a week or four fits your homeschool, send us a message and we will help you pick.
