After-School Programs in Davenport, FL

If you have searched "after school programs near me" from Davenport, Champions Gate or the Four Corners area, you know the choices can feel thin: crowded rooms, long waitlists or care that is mostly screen time. This guide covers what to look for in an after-school program for kids ages 6–15, and how the RunTheCode After-School Tech Club on Hooton Way works.
What makes a good after-school program
The best after-school programs give kids something to do, not just somewhere to be. Look for small groups, supervision you can trust, and projects your child can show you at pickup. Ask how students are grouped, how many kids each adult watches, and how you will hear about progress.
- Small groups: at RunTheCode students work in groups of 3–4
- Real projects instead of worksheets or free app time
- A safe, supervised, camera-monitored space
- Regular progress updates and project photos for parents

Getting there from Four Corners schools
RunTheCode is at 9023 Hooton Way in Champions Gate, Davenport, less than a mile from Four Corners Upper School. Upper School students can ride the yellow school bus, which drops them at our location. Independent providers, San German Transportation and Angels Prestige Transportation, also serve the Four Corners Lower and Upper campuses. Contact them directly to check routes and seats. Our Transportation page has their details.
What kids actually do after school
Students continue their own project tracks across six labs: coding (Scratch, Python, Roblox Studio), robotics, engineering, science, 3D design and printing, and game design. A seven-year-old might program a first robot, while a thirteen-year-old builds a game or prints parts they designed. Our STEAM pets are part of the day too.
Homeschool and camp options too
Homeschool families can join the Homeschool STEM Lab during the day, and we are an approved Step Up for Students provider. Over school breaks we run seasonal camps from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, including the Winter Break camp and the nine-week Tech Summer Camp.
